About Hāʻena Beach Park

Hāʻena Beach Park is a County beach park on Kauaʻi's North Shore, on a wide sweep of sand between Tunnels Beach to the east and Kēʻē to the west. Directly across the highway is Maniniholo Dry Cave, a large lava cave you can walk into.

The park has restrooms, showers, picnic tables and a lifeguard tower, and it is the main parking area for Tunnels Beach next door. People come for the long beach, the view of Makana's peak, and summer snorkeling along the reef toward Tunnels. In winter, the North Shore surf breaks straight onto this beach.

Hāʻena Beach Park is a beach on Kauaʻi’s North Shore, on the north-facing coast. A County lifeguard tower covers it. Its surf follows the National Weather Service forecast for North-facing shores, and its tides follow NOAA’s Hanalei Bay station. Facilities: restrooms.
